above me those heavy limbs of blossoms
gently tickle a sky of blue –
i am watching a leaf form, it’s beginning ache
and tenuous, tenacious first push off the branch
to feed off the sun, to feel a cool breeze,
oh that same breath
bringing down petals in such expressive state
as we both shake heads in incredulity.
nice…spring leaves me breathless each year anew…and each year i think i should be used to it now..but it's def. magic that happens…great capture..and hope you had a lovely time in new zealand…def. on my places to visit list..smiles
smiles…lovely imagery and a bit of fun too there in the end…enjoyed…
I really like that aching bud form…an image I wish I'd written. Nice spring poem.
such vivid imagery, you definitely captured the wonder of springtime.
The naturalist observer mirrored in his nodding by the leaves-and-petals, wind-blown on the bough. An image of amazement, a spring miracle.
A clear breath of spring
thank you all very much!! I love spring so much, and it was especially amazing to me this year since I arrived home from fall in New Zealand to a world in complete bloom….
@Claudia, i can send you my NZ trip notes if you'd like 🙂
Really digging that closing line. So well written.
Nice write here.
